Joanne Hardinger organized the Froebel's Kindergarten Study Group in Mason City as a means to learn about Froebel and his methods, and applications to the works of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Diligently, she led the group in studies and conscientiously recorded notes of the happenings for each study session. After a five-month long hiatus, Joanne reconvened the study group for a 90 minute review session, writing a summary report that described progress for the past year starting on December 12, 2012; that is,the group's inaugral studies of Gifts 1-4.
For starters, emphasis was placed on the importance to "work through" transformations, to take time to observe and compare and soak up concepts and learn from the experience. Gretchen made an immediate observation pointing out how "X-Y-Z" the practice exercises appear.
In other words, how perfectly lined up the patterns were as if on a grid, which of course they were designed to originate and appear that way.
