Froebel's Kindergarten
Mason City Study Group
Moving On

Joanne started this design from a ground-form of a hexagon made of a tight group of six equilateral triangles, each half forming a trapezoid of a different color.

After adding six triangles to the outside of each side, she pulled it all apart and the "negative" space revealed the border of the hexagon and its three axes that intersect in the middle.

Each half of the design, the yellow half and the purple half, makes a crown. This pattern was selected as the logo for our study group, a masterful work of art, that demonstrates in a glance the workings of Froebel's Kindergarten, suitable for people of all ages.
