Froebel's Kindergarten
Mason City Study Group
On-Going

With Joanne taking the photograph, it shows Gretchen, Christi and Pat displaying their finished Stoops. Practice exercises such as this involve the use of Gift Six to construct Life Forms.

Other examples include Monuments, Pedestals, Park Gates, Garden Houses, Altars, Arches, Market Stall, Memorial Pillars, News Stand, Church Organ and Bath.

The Kindergarten Guide contains 53 separate drawings available to build Life Forms, alone. An additional 19 drawings guide the creation of Beauty Forms. While another 15 drawings represent Knowledge Forms.

As always, the results stimulate observations and discussions. Pat wishes she had grown up with the hands-on Froebel's Kindergarten exercises, stating that math was/is otherwise taught too abstractly for kids to grasp fundamental concepts.
